6:37 pm - Not all right at the Red and White
Ticket is finally booked. I will be arriving in St. John's at about 11:30pm NFLD time on August 19th. Woot!!! Guess I have to make plans. It seems I can't get away without doing the cabin thing so when do you all want to go. I guess everybody else will still be working, so tentatively scheduled for the following weekend, the 25-27ish. Unless someone has a better idea.

Good God. I had bologna and beans for my supper this week. Oh maple leaf, how I've missed you. Also wanted to have boiled beans and salt meat, (one of my favourite meals, mmm salt induced heart attack), but salt meat can't just be picked up anywhere. Sadness.

Talking to my parents last night. Seems Canada Post sent some auditors down to check the books. Apparently billing for parcels changed in May but we didn't. Oops. They also showed up right when my mom was planning on eating her dinner. So she spent the afternoon talking to them instead of eating. My mom not eating = trying fo a diabetic coma. Due to the reduction in federal tax, my mother had to count the liquor last Sunday (for the end of the month sales) and now again tomorrow night after the store closes and early Saturday morning because of the changes in pricing. Fun :/ To make matters hellish, the only non-family member (kinda) that works at the store has gone on holidays this week. Since she's "best friends" with my uncle, my cousin (the only other employee at the store besides me) will also be joining them starting tomorrow. This leaves my parents alone to run the store and me in Ottawa freaking out. Holy Hell. For those of you who know of my store trouble, you've probably got it in your heads that my parents are gonna go insane. Good call. I expect bubbling idiots in about a week. Since I was the last one to figure out how to program the cash registers, I'm afraid my parents are gonna have a hell of a time trying to find it in the manual.

I really wanna come home!!! Oh hell! And I considered going into business.

10:46 pm - Ottawa weekend
So far my busiest of all ottawa weekends. Visited Krista Balsom's dive of an apartment on friday night. Had a couple white rum and cokes. Talking to her friends who seem like very nice people. Not at all what I was expecting, considering most of them belong to the Greek community. Krista is the vice-president of her sorority, Nu Simga Pi. Got sorta blamed for flirting, which I don't recall doing. Had an enjoyable and highly amusing chat on MSN with Steve when I got home.

Saturday afternoon, watched my roommates compete in the dragon boat races. A big charity event here in ottawa. 20 rowers, a steerer and a pace keeper/drum beater thingy all in this chinese style boat, paddling up the canal by moodie's bay. Sadly the Bay is neither fresh nor salt, but an odd mix of pollutiony smells. The afternoon was spent relaxing at the event. Had supper out at a pub/eatery with my roomies.

Sunday, watched a couple episodes from season 4 of lois and clark. Running out of episodes and will soon need a new obsession. Went to the theatre in South Keys to watch X-men 3. Enjoyable. Following Natalie's advice stayed through the credits for the 20sec tidbit. Will reserve total judgement until I can discuss the movie with people who I must sadly admit, are more into the x-men universe than I. It is with a heavy heart that I admit that Geoff knows more of the X-men than I do. I blame living in the sticks, away from comic book stores as a kid. Damn Wal-mart for cutting out comic books shortly after I got my license and realized they even had them. Bastards.

As far as I know, I will be booking my flight for monday, 21st august. I will arrive in St. John's after supper that evening. Keep you all posted. Missing everyone.

4:27 pm - Monotony is the Ultimate Gross
I am in a rut!! I'm bored, behind in my paperwork for MUN, and generally missing everyone. I woke up three times this morning to the same dream...I had flown home for the weekend and was enjoying the company of others, just chilling, when it suddenly hits me that I have to go to work. I don't have time to catch a plane and still make it on time. I'm freaking out!! Even if I got superman to fly me, or if I flew myself (more on this later), I still wouldn't make it. I awoke in quiet terror at about 2, 4 and 6am.

Watching so much Lois and Clark The New Adventures of Superman has messed with my brain. As my dream suggests, I am quite disillusioned. :/ Cause I could be supergirl, I mean come on, add it up. I have glasses...and if I take them off and restyle my hair I look noticeable different. Need proof, check out my driver's license. By the way, none of you read that and if you tell anyone I will concoct a brilliant, if not ludicris scheme to get me out of revealing my true identity. It may involve a clone, hologram, or a version of me from another dimension. It's all do-able.

In any case, I'm bored, sad, and mildly depressed. But I had a good day at work, so I'm feeling better. Someone right to me, please.

5:50 pm - Hot Child in the City!!
Greetings!!

As part of my daily work, I have to fill out little calibration stickers that say the units serial number and when it's due back for recalibration. I would like to inform you all that Natalie's birthday happens to be exactly 28 weeks away. I had to write it several times today :-D so trust me I know.

A guy from work was questioning Ian, another MUN student, but from the St. John's area, about his accent. He was saying that he had a slight newfie accent that he could hear in the way he chose to say things. I, wanting to get my two cents in, exclaimed that Ian should have little accent compared to me, who is from "owtarowndabay". Surprise, Matt exclaimed, "I thought you were from America". Well, my jaw dropped, and this other student Geoff, sitting across from me said "burned".

I immediately had to clarify that he didn't mean the southern states, like Texas. His only reply was, "not texas, more like northern alabama". WHAT!!! My understanding is that I talk kinda quickly and it odd terms. I don't know. Little hurt about being american though :/

Was raining on and off for awhile, humid as hell. Getting hot now though. I may just melt.

Sorry Mark about forgetting your birthday. I'm an ass I know. Happy 23rd, though it's a week late.

12:42 am - Meet and Greet
Spent today relaxing. Managed some how to wake up at 2:30, 6:30, 8:30, and 10:00. Normally wake on a weekend at 6 roll over til 9:00 but today was odd. I just try to think of 6:00 as 7:30 at home and then I don't feel so bad. I won't have jet lag when I get home, that's for sure.

Went to my new friends Ray and Marissa's for a bbq. Marissa was working so she arrived late. The entourage consisted of my roommates Jenn and Julia, their friend Julia and myself. It was quite awesome. Bacardi was my friend. Not quite my chum/bosom buddy, but we are getting better aquainted. We had a pit fire, cookies, and were attacked by a rat. Side note, the squirrels in Ontario are black and about the size of a small cat. I also got bitten by the bugs.

Yes Mark, I do have paypal but I have not used it since 3rd year so I'm not even sure of how to access it. I can try to find out if it's that big a deal. I'll be home again in late August. Gimme calls sometime if you can.

As Natalie has recommended, I am getting Hot Child in the City and it will be my theme song, at least for a little while.

7:43 pm - Girl in the City
As Lauren has suggested, my entry will deal with my "adventures" living in Ottawa for the summer. He came up with the name. :-D Go Lauren!!!!!!! So here goes my first attempt at a rant.

I'm working at a company in the Nepean Section of town. For Nepean read Stavenger. It's kinda the same idea except here it's architects and floor layers. I guess it's more like Pippy Place than Stavenger. I work as a Calibration Technologies in the Physical Properties lab. Which means I just check stuff like calipers, torque wrenches, and pressure gauges to see if they are within standard tolerances. If they aren't...I cry a little, then I fix them or hand them off to someone who knows how to better than I do. Sadly, the fixing of torque wrenches still gives me trouble, but I only learned how on tues...I think. Basically I wear a lab coat (to look professional and stay warm, one of the standards is temperature) and try to look busy and knowledgable for 8 hours a day. Today I cleaned three sets of gauge blocks...my friend the gauge block. Little bastards made of steel or ceramic measured to the millionth part of an inch. These particular sets had 34, 82, and 112 ity bity pieces that I had to pick up with tweezers, dip in propanol-2 and lay aside to calibrate tomorrow. Yeah!!!! :-S

My roommates are awesome. Two girls at 23 going on 24. They both work so we all get up scatterly in the morning but aren't in each other's way. Spend evenings hanging out and I have met several of their friends including an Olympic Gold Medalist. Ray plays Sledge (hockey on sleds) for Canada's Paralympic Team and they resently won gold against the Netherlands??? maybe. The point is I'm cool. :-D One girl is actually from Mount Pearl but has been living here since she graduated from high school, so we swap crazy newfie stories. Both girls are out going, sporty and fun, but not too fun if ya know what I'm saying (not drunk whores), so I'm in good hands.

Ottawa has a crazy transit system. It takes a while to get the hang of. Each stop has a pretty red and white sign that tells you what buses stop there and has a number you can call to check when the next bus is going through. To get to really busy places, like one of the malls, you take the transit way. Your bus goes down this secret-like road behind the major buildings that only buses are allowed on and stops at these huge heated red bus shelters. These things are huge. You get off, walk inside, go either up or downstairs to cross over onto the side of the street you wanna be on. It's crazy. My first time using this was on last Friday. On the way home it was dark and I was so afraid I would miss my stop and be lost in Ottawa forever. But Krista was with me and she looked one way while I looked the other. Then I got off and the bus took her home and I waited for my other bus. Your bus pass, should you choose to have one, requires a picture ID. These people are serious about public transportion.

When it's not raining...I seem to have moved her during rainy season :( the weather is super hot. It's suppose to get really humid. I'm told I cannot prepare for it. So it's near the end of May and it feels like end of July, August in Newfoundland. Since there is no water so the wind to blow over, even the breezes are warm. My face gets blood read walking to my house from the bus stop at the end of the street. I think I burned my chest a little one day when I wasn't wearing a coat. I walked to the bank today. An actual Scotiabank branch that I can deposit money into is 2.18 km from my home. I walked one way and almost walked the whole way back. I cheated a little and took a bus for a few stops. Don't look at me that way. I was hungry and wanted to get home and eat my supper.

Don't ask me about the city. Besides Parliament, the route to work, the cinema I saw a movie in, and the walk I took today, I have seen precise little of the city. I'm hoping to finish work on the 18th of August and fly home shortly after so that I can see all you fabulous people before MUN resumes it's dreary course.

Anyone wanting to give me a shout, Natalie has my cell number. Just remember...it has to be 6 pm my time before I answer the phone. That's 7:30pm in Newfoundland and part of Labrador. :-D Hope to be talking to you all soon. Sorry Natalie for making you think I was dead, dying or knocked up. I will try to clarify in future. Thank you again Steve for relaying my frantic message. I have precious little to do, so don't make me feel like I'm actually half way across the country. Gimme calls.

7:11 pm - The actual Entry
I had a crazy dream. We were in the old Salvation Army in Lower Lance Cove. Not inside the actual building but we were in that location. The Joker (think cartoon version) was on trial, the Army having become a court house, for some past crimes. He was found guilty immediately and was escorted out of court by two police officers (also cartoony). Batman (either me or with me) left after to follow. I figure either I was Batman or Robin or just with them. It seemed to change. We drive towards Natalie's house from the upper road since the pattywagon took the lower road and we're trying to catch them. When we reach the turn in Britannia after Dolores Burt store/house, the siren of the cop car we have caught up to suddenly goes off and the car does a screeching 180 in the road.

Some how I know that the Joker has taking control of the car and is heading back to the court house/church. I also know that if I try to stop them, a woman will be killed. It was like playing a game and restarting in an earlier area having known how the part right before you die turns out. So I decide to ignore the Joker and the car as it whizzes past me. It'll saving a life so I figure I'll let it slide.

Flash back to the court house. The Joker has arrived, bursting in. He tosses what appears to be a small black communicator to one of his henchman who is now on trial. He jumps up from the witness stand to catch it as the jury, judge, and officiers turn to the Joker. Mayhem seems about to ensue. As the henchman grabs the device out of the air he activates it. A wide beam of technicolour of light eminates from the device and makes a 360 arc around the henchman, sweeping up and down in to the attending court members eyes. (prettiest damn thing I ever saw, I make the best special effects). The members of the court become stunned and the Joker and henchman leave the court house unchecked.

Skip to me driving up my driveway in the Batmobile. My father can be clearly seen through the shop window putting tobacco away. Too bad it's 2 in the morning. I park behind the house, but before I can enter, I'm aware of my mother humming as she does laundry downstairs. Also a little weird at two am. I become aware that the Joker has somehow brainwashed everyone for some purpose I can not yet figure out. Their is only one thing I know for sure, I'm responsible. I didn't stop him in Britannia so whatever evil he has done is my fault. I feel so torn about my earlier decision which saved the girl, that I wake mayself up to find it is only 4am and cannot get to sleep for sometime later.

With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility (Spiderman) is all I got. That and my addiction to superhero cartoons.

12:30 am - Surprise!!! I'm not dead!!!
Sup yo'!

Last weekend Mark, Natalie, Travis and I had a bbq at my house and then we went into my cabin for the night. Travis went home after a bit because he had to work the next day. Re: Natacat's entry. What she says is true. I was so tired that I had to instruct them as to the shutting off of the generator and was awoken by them running back into the cabin amid shrieks of delight and anxiety. Yes the generator had gone off earlier in the night and I did go out to refill it's gas and lube. I did get mad at Natalie for her improper holding of the flashlight. Damned if I could find the lube in the daylight, let alone the dark. Also hadn't done it in like forever. Natalie and Mark were best pleased when the lights came back on. I flicked the clutch, cause I figured it was in the wrong position, however this proved false, by the dimming of all the lights and the cries of Nat and Mark, so I was forced to flick it back. I was some sleepy. Enjoyed the company and the charades though. "Don't phunk with my heart" and the clue for "song" was amusing. Picture Natalie "spirit fingering" the air next to her head with her mouth open in a delighted grin.

Trav-ass turned the big 2-0 on Tuesday. I suppose I should comment that my boyfriend Nick also turned 20 but on the Sunday before (7th), but whatever :). Hoping to do something with Travis tomorrow for his birthday, but all of our planning has come to nil. Oh well. I have been informed that Geoff is also in for a spell but have seen no proof. Tigger is currently beating the shit out of Natalie. Oh well. Natalie also thinks she smells stinky cat breath. All's fair...

Also for future reference, I have worked for the past two nights until 11:00pm. No big deal you say? Does your day start at 9am? My father's other employees ( all two of them) have taken a weeks holiday and we are so screwed. I spent the time filling coolers, wrapping turnips, putting up 3lbs. poly bags :), filling up the liquor, messing with the post office money order's, and eating chips.

Peace out

8:06 pm - My weekend
Well since others have already mentioned most of this, I'll just annoy you by reiterating.

Friday night:
Went to RS/Classics and Women Studies mixers, Alex's McDonald's and Richard/<Matthew/Rosey's. Got Home aroung 6am on Sat, good times. I can't believe I watched 4 movies and didn't fall asleep. I only had one cup of coffee ta boot. Happy Birthday Tristan. The big 2-3 b'y!! Saturday: "Studied" for the tests I had today (Chem and Math). Finished Baldur's Gate II Shadows of Amn for me compute. That night I saw Dick 3 (as Gavin put it) with Lauren and Tristan. Gotta write a review on it...sometime. It was a very good play. The guy was so into it he was spitting all over the place (and wicking at Lauren). Tristan got a gun to the head and I nearly tripped Buckingham over. Lost my bar virginity at the Spur. Followed dem two around. Madgie's didn't have "Build Me Up Buttercup" for Karaoke so I watched in awe as Lauren sang the girls part of "Busta Move" while Tristan did his break dance. Came home around 1:30 and well, zzzzzz. Sunday: "Studied" some more for math and chem. Finished "Bored of the Rings", it was quite enjoyable. Thanks Nat for the present. Helped with Oates poster. Though I think I got more paint on me than on the sign. Tristan and Natalie are some sore from it. Today: Studied (no air quotes) for my tests in the wee hours of the morn. Getting two B's I figur'. Had to crack both knees before I could attempt the stairs in the Engineering building. I'm getting some ol' wha? Volleyball'll do that to ya. Cep' I haven't played since last March. Oh VP Justin, how you anger me. Let me count the ways. Gonna study (haven't decided on the air quotes part yet) for tomorrows Psych test. Think I'll write a couple english papers on wednesday. After me in-class that is. Ain't life grand? It'd be better if Lauren would let me copy his play review. Wink wink.

10:42 pm - Sorry 'bout that
Damn, I hate Steve's computer. I accidently entered the last entry without finishing it. So I'm bored. Geoff has apparently decided that our company is not good enough for him. PPPllllluuhhhh on you, Geoffy-Ray!!!!! Speak of the devil!!! He just popped in that second, what a goof. Oh my, so much for writing a good entry. I'm gonna work on my math now that Geoff has returned my keys. Bye bye.

10:02 pm - Well b'ys...university sucks
In case yas haven't noticed, I haven't written an entry in..oh...8 months. Tristan is present and demands that I update, so here I am. So I have a pile of homework, a math asignment, a physics assignment, an english assignment, and a chem pre-lab. That was up until I finished the chem around 6. But instead of working on it...

I'm hanging in steve-o's room and he ain't here!!!! Me, Tristan, and Natalie are here. Geoff has vanished for the moment, disappearing in to the great void that is Barnes house.

I like my LiveJournal. It is wonderful. I will never neglect my LiveJournal again. For real. Tristan is awesome wicked.

10:22 pm - well i'll be
wicked me son!! it only took forever for me to upload an image into this stupid live journal thing. Funny, I always considered myself to have enough knowledge about computers do handle most everyday situations, 'fraid not!! So now my friends you my look upon the image I have placed before you in all it's gory...ahem...glory!!

If you're confused by the image, it's understandable. It's my grade 12 picture scanned it as line art with about 64 dpis of resolution. It's the only damn thing that would work. I actually got it to work before but it was a blur of about 7 by 9 pixels, so no go.

Now that that frustration is out...I'm gonna relate how nasty a driver I am!! Headed up to Geoff-oh-ney's last night, me and travis (that's natalie's brother) were behind this car doing about the speed limit, which just doesn't happen on random island. This car looked like it was made for speed and was lowered to the ground even farther than my dear corolla and we could watch the muffler spark whenever he bottomed out. Good times! Anyway, I was considering passing him, (ya know waiting for a legal opportunity) when another car comes up behind out of no where and passes both of us. Then the bugger in front of me decides to speed up and ya knows I had to try and stay with em! Then the fun started.

These two cars, obviously new to the island and obviously buddies, would reach well over whatever I could make my little car do on the straight aways and then slow down to the speed limit in communities. So I keeped catching up, never really losing sight of them. At the last straight away, dere by krystle's and again closer to the bar bridge, dese fellers tramped 'er. Well I never heed what I was doing until travis balled out "140!!", so...I hit the brakes, being as I never did that before, and still managed to stay with em. Only at cormack dere did I lose 'em, fellers went de odder way see! Well ya should have caught a whiff of the reek coming of me tires. Seems ya ain't suppose to tap the brakes a'tall when ya going 140km/h. oh well.

Hope I didn't say anything too incrimidating and for dose of yous laughing at the way a writes...Tank-ey, I aims to please!!

11:50 am - Can you say "Crazy Errand Girl"? I knew you could!
Well blessed...weekend was fun. Got to see Mark, which never happens. The guy lives 12 minutes away when I don't drive savagely!! Now Marcus, no discuss Return to me, I haven't read it yet!!!

"Jesus Christ, if you were on a project you'd be at work right now!" her father exclaimed as he observed her typing on the computer. Natasha considered remarking "the projects are over and my friends are enjoying themselves", but she held her tongue as her father bounded up the stairs.

Don't get the wrong impression, my dad's a great guy, what other boss would leave off saying that until 12:00 noon? He just has this little idea in his head that he's behind at work because he doesn't have enough help and that those who don't help are holding him back. Therefore, if his theory is true, while I sit here and type I am slowly pulling my father further in the hole. Nice sentiment.

Anyway, can't wait to go to res!! I'm a little concerned about this whole "froshin' is back" stuff, but what don't kill ya makes ya stronger!! Just don't ask me to do something too bizarre, ah screw it, bring it on Lauren!! *slowly creeps into shadow, hoping to be ignored*

Ya's should have seen me yesterday morning between 9:15 and 10:45am!! Hehe, I have finally come to the subject of this entry. Me father sent me on an errand run to clarenville to pick up some stuff for our store. For those out of the loop, my dad owns a general store in Petley, Random Island. We sell, groceries, appliances, mattress, hardware, and good ol' fashion beer and liquor!! He would be so pleased I told you. Anyways, I had to go to Wal-mart and pick up some Vachon cakes, you know jos louis and billet logs. How often do you see someone get a cart to buy cake snacks. I left wal-mart with two large bags filled with 15 boxes of yummy goodness and the cashier hardly bat an eyelash. Next stop, cormack mini mart! I picked up a bread order left by my friend the trinity bake shop guy (I also spotted the pepsi guy working. funny how I don't know their names). I also grabbed 20 bags of ice. Whheeee! Coming down over the island was a fun trip. I had vachon cakes in the seat next to me, bread trays sliding around in the backseat and ice melting in the trunk!!

A wonderful way to spend an hour and a half!!
Gotta go, father is demanding my presence at work. Mark, take as long as you want with that book, I won't be getting to it anytime soon

10:40 am - Well b'ys, I'se Here
Ha-doe to all my friends out in live journal land!!! I'm still so confused about this whole system, and I still don't know who half of you are and some of you won't even be able to read this!! I'm their friend but they're not mine. That kinda sucks but then I'm not the social butterfly that Sheppard is. What else can I rant about......?

Humph, well I've almost finished cleaning my room, it's like 13 X 16 or 18 so don't freak when I tell you I've been at it for a week, I'm also a slob, so it was a big mess.

Gotta go father has just instructed me to "come on"!! see what I'm talking about, no frigging time.... bye y'
